Chander interviewed for NPR “Marketplace” report on “how EU regulation is changing tech”

On September 12, 2023, CDE affiliate faculty member Anupam Chander, Scott K. Ginsburg Professor of Law and Technology at Georgetown University Law School, was interviewed for a story on “how EU regulation is changing tech” on the NPR program “Marketplace.”

On issues from data privacy (new window) to content moderation (new window), as Europe goes, so goes the tech industry, according to Anupam Chander, a law professor at Georgetown.
“The EU is basically the big dog of regulation (new window),” he said.
Big Tech may be a big punching bag in American politics, but actual legislation has deadlocked domestically (new window). That’s not so much the case in Europe, in part because the companies are mostly American, said Chander.
