Parking and Directions to Riggs Library :
Please plan for enough time to park and to walk to Riggs Library (up to 20 minutes from the SWQ Garage, up to 10 minutes from Healy Gate)

Directions to campus

Parking at the Southwest Garage, 3611 Canal Rd, NW

Visitor and daily parking is available in the Southwest Garage which is accessed from 3611 Canal Road NW . When entering, pull a ticket from the gate dispenser. Pay by credit card at the exit gate or bring the ticket to the pay station on the ground floor lobby of Kennedy Hall to pay with cash or credit card. Once parked in the Southwest Garage, visitors can use the elevators to exit onto campus. One elevator takes you to Library Walk and the other to Kennedy Hall. (See walking directions below)

Walking directions to Riggs Library

From Main Gates: Riggs Library is located on the third floor at the south end of Georgetown’s main building, Healy Hall (37th and O Streets). Go up the main steps into Healy, turn left, and walk all the way down the hall to the stairwell that will take you to the third floor. An elevator is also available just before the end of the hall on your right, directly across from the Bioethics Research Library. Note: if you take the north stairs or elevator to the third floor, you will have to walk through the Classics Department offices to Riggs.

From SW Parking Garage:
Option 1: If you exit the parking lot at the south elevator, you will emerge at Library Walk. Walk up the hill (Library Walk, a bit steep) to the back entrance to Healy Hall, which is at the south side of the building next to the small parking lot (Lot 8). The back door takes you up a short flight of steps to where the staircase and elevator are on the first floor of Healy. There is also a ramp to the left of the back door that takes you into the basement of the building. After you enter, make a right and the elevator is right there.

Option 2, also Accessible: If you exit the parking lot using the central elevator, you will emerge at Kennedy Hall courtyard. You can go north and make a right at North Road and then a right on Tondorff to get to the Village C West Elevator (at the GUPD office) or walk a bit further to get to Library Walk where you will turn left and walk up the hill (see Option 1 above).

Accessibility 

Passengers can be dropped off at Lot 8 behind Healy to take the accessible ramp into the building where the elevator will take you up to the third floor. Please contact us at digitalethics@georgetown.edu if you need this option so we can facilitate your arrival.

Alternatively, you may walk a short, level distance from either parking garage elevator exit to the Village C elevator next to the Georgetown University Police Department which will take you up to a level pathway into Dahlgren Courtyard. Enter the Healy Building from the Courtyard, turn right, and take the elevator across from the Bioethics Research Library to the third floor.
